Airlines need strong cyber security warning systems
Modern airlines depend on interconnected systems for booking, check-in, maintenance, flight planning and in-flight services. A cyber incident in any of these can disrupt operations, expose customer data or affect safety-related processes.
Early-warning and monitoring systems help airlines detect intrusions before they spread. Combined with network segmentation, regular testing and incident-response plans, they reduce both the likelihood and the impact of attacks.
For aviation insurers and reinsurers, cyber risk is a growing part of the exposure picture. Underwriters increasingly ask how carriers manage cyber security, and policy wordings are being reviewed to clarify how cyber-triggered losses are covered.
